COVID-19 Restriction Easing!

 

After training all of Term 2 online, we are delighted to welcome our Sub-Juniors and Intermediates back to class on Monday 22nd June 2020 prior to school holidays, followed by our other sections in Term 3. 

 

We will be able to accept new enrollments from Term 3, but RSVPs are compulsory to ensure we remain compliant with the 4sqm rule.  Being quite a large venue, we can comfortably accommodate up to 10 new participants in each age group.

​

Don't forget, you aren't able to come to class if you have COVID-19 symptoms, but we will be filming our Coaches training any new work on our online participant platform, and with enough fore-warning, we can video conference you in from home so you don't miss a thing!

2018 Five Years Service Awards!

 

We were are delighted to have recently celebrated our Five Year Anniversary in 2018.  Being a returning sport to Gippsland we have been fondly supported by our local community, and hope we've provided opportunities for people to participate where otherwise they did not have an opportunity.

2018 Calisthenic Skills Exams!

 

We were delighted to have 18 students again present for their Calisthenics Skills exams in 2017.  And we had two students receive Honours in their Grade 1 exam!

​

Building on the foundations of the strong, confident performers our students have developed into over 2018, they presented for Test 1, Test 2, Test 3, Grade 1 and Grade 3.  Our club is so proud of our 18 participants!

New Adults Class - Masters

 

We are now offering a new class for Adults on Wednesdays.  Starting 21st June with an introductory price of $10/class we will be offering two classes in Term 2 and then continue on with weekly classes in Term 3.  We welcome all ages from parents to grandparents, and all abilities!

2017 Calisthenic Skills Exams!

 

We were delighted to have 11 students again present for their Calisthenics Skills exams in 2017.  And we had our first student receive Honours!

New Level 1 Qualified Coach

 

We were delighted to have our first locally trained Level 1 Coach pass her assessment when Narelle Hancock was assessed in February this year.  Narelle ably assists our Sub-Juniors and Juniors sections and now provides a qualified and insured back-up Coach in case Alex is unable to attend class.  Congratulations Narelle!

2016 Calisthenic Skills Exams!

 

We were delighted to have our first successful Grade 2 candidate in June 2016 when Narelle Hancock completed her exam so should could train to become a qualified Coach.

 

In November 2016, 7 of our students presented for their Calisthenics Skills exams.  After several weeks of training with Coach Alex, the students were able to present with great confidence and style.

 

Our pupils presented for Test 1, Test 2 and Grade 2 and were all successful.  Our club is so proud of our 7 participants, in particular our second Grade 2 qualifier!

2015 Calisthenic Skills Exams!

 

In November 2015, twenty of our students presented for their Calisthenics Skills exams.  After several weeks of training with Coach Alex, the students were able to present with great confidence and style.

 

Our pupils presented for Test 1, Test 2 and Test 3 and were all successful.  Our club is so proud of our 20 participants!

After-school program - St Mary's!

 

In Term 4 2015, Coach Zara had the pleasure of Coaching at St Mary's in Sale in their Active After Chool Program.  Over a 9 week term, the students learned Calisthenic skills and team work, while being active!

 

Zara choreographed a fabulous end of term concert for the students - great fun!

Club Secretary finalist in State awards!

 

In March 2015, Club Secretary Alex Otzen was announced as a finalist in the Service to Calisthenics volunteer awards, established by Calisthenics Victoria.  She narrowly missed out on the top award to Liz Hickey, but was presented with her finalist certificate at the "Celebrating Calisthenics" award ceremony held on 28th March at the RACV Club in Melbourne.

 

Alex's nomination recognises over 10 years of volunteering at local, state and national level particularly in the area of Coach registration.  Congratulations Alex!

East Gippsland receives grant funding from VicHealth

 

In January 2015, East Gippsland was successful in receiving an Active Club grant from VicHealth.  This grant will provide first aid equipment, costumes, rods and clubs to our young club.  This equipment will allow us to accommodate more new members in 2015 with appropriate equipment and costumes.  We look forward to supporting our Community by continuing to provide a low cost activity for families.

Our First Calisthenic Skills Exams!

 

In November 2014, our first pupils presented for their Calisthenics Skills exams.  The Pupil Skills Program, is a national examination program developed by the Australian Calisthenic Federation.

 

Our pupils presented for Test 1, Test 2 and Grade 1 and were all successful.  Our club is so proud of our 17 participants!

Cal-Ability Program at Sale Specialist School

 

In Term 4 2014, our East Gippsland with support from Calisthenics Victoria and Gippsport presented an Cal-ability program at the Sale Specialist School.  The program was conducted over 6 weeks, providing 2x half hour Calisthenics sessions each week.  The program was targeted at High Needs pupils at the school, who often miss out on an opportunity to be involved with extra-curricular activities such as this.

 

We are proud to support Access for All-Abilities in our community.  

East Gippsland receives Star 2 status from Calisthenics Victoria!

 

In July 2014, East GIppsland was presented with Star 2 status from Calisthenics Victoria.  The Star program is a Good Governance program implemented by Calisthenics Victoria in conjunction with VicSport.  It provides guidance to clubs to develop governance policies to ensure the longterm success of their club. 

 

We were only the seventh club in Victoria to achieve this status and are now actively working towards Star 3 status in 2015!
